Your role

We are looking for an Accounts Administrator to support the day-to-day financial and administrative functions of our growing businesses.

This is a varied role which combines bookkeeping, financial administration and general office support across multiple businesses.

This role is not solely a bookkeeping position. Alongside finance duties, the successful candidate will be involved in a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the business.

The role supports several businesses within the group and therefore requires excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Accounts Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, journals and reconciliations
  • Process invoices, payments and manage accounts payable/receivable
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with payroll processing
  • Banking and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Liaise with external accountants and assist with year-end processes and ongoing requirements
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage cashing-up and banking processes across businesses twice weekly
  • Oversee change requirements and cash floats
  • Process and manae contract and insurance renewals
  • Maintain company records and documentation
  • Prepare reports on accounts/finances as and when required across all businesses
  • General office administration including filing, correspondence, maintaining records and providing support to the wider management team.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and business administration as required

To thrive in this role

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounts/finance assistant role Is proficient in Quickbooks accounting software
  • Has strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Possesses a good understanding of UK accounting standards and VAT
  • Can work independently and meet deadlines reliably Is flexible, trustworthy, and maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Is able to successfully juggle multiple businesses Is calm under pressure in a busy environment
