Miscellaneous
21st May 2022 - 22nd May 2022
UNTIL Sunday 22nd May
The Moira Canal Festival is a family event held every year on the restored section of the Ashby Canal, at the historic Moira Furnace Museum, on the North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire border.
It aims to raise awareness of, and money for, the restoration, extension and maintenance of the Ashby Canal.
Organisers are welcoming Britain's Got Talent finalists from 2018, the D-Day Darlings to celebrate the event.
Whether it is a Battle of Britain Memorial Fight flypast, Morris dancing, children's crafts, local bands and singers, historical re-enactment or something more unusual, there is always something to entertain the whole family at the Moira Canal Festival.
At the children's entertainment area, Emma's Crafty Kids will be open on the festival field between 11am and 4pm - let your children's imagination run wild!
And don't forget to visit Mr Juggler, at 12.30pm and 3.30pm for his traditional Punch and Judy show. Children and accompanying parents welcome to come and join in the fun!
Meet Mother Duck and her ducklings around the site, take your chance and enter her duck race
Watch and listen out for the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Avro Lancaster
Plenty of eatery options in the catering area. From jacket potatoes to burgers, mac n cheese to fish & chips, there's plenty to sink your teeth into - don't forget we also have a licensed bar too
Over 40 craft, trade and charity stalls to visit and support
And don't forget to see the Morris dancers round the site, predominately performing in the courtyard but a daily performance in the arena too.
