A knife-wielding burglar was bitten by the dog he was trying to steal after threatening to stab the householder in the stomach.

Officers are appealing for information after a report of an aggregated burglary in Ravenstone on Thursday (February 18) February.

A 'serious collision' closed the A42 near Ashby today (Friday) - after three people were reportedly injured following an incident involving two vehicles.
