Meet the NHS Psychiatric Nurse seeking to take true care and compassion all the way to County Hall

Michelle Holdcroft is a vibrant new candidate running to be the County Councillor for Forest and Measham, and she has pledged to deal in 'substance over selfies' as her tireless local engagements continue.
During the run-up to the May 1 elections, the Psychiatric Nurse and mother of two has been visiting an array of schools, community groups, sports clubs, pubs, cafes, charities, businesses and other local venues.
The focus for Michelle is on engaging, listening, empathising and seeking to understand what's important to the people of Forest and Measham.
"As far as I'm concerned, to stand is to serve," she said.
"You don't need more local politicians who are more interested in themselves than you.
"It's something we so often see and, to be frank, I despise it. Everyone that's met me will 100% know that.
"I'm not in this for ego, for status, or for power. This isn't a side hustle for me. I'm here to make a difference to people's lives.

"It's what I've done as a nurse for well over a decade. Becoming a Councillor would allow me to take that passion for helping people and deliver it on a much wider scale.
"If I'm going to be able to make that difference, the first step is to take the seat from the Conservatives.
"If enough people back me at the ballot box to make that happen, I'll back the whole community with everything I have in return."
The people of Forest and Measham can vote for Michelle Holdcroft for County Councillor on Thursday, May 1.
