People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in SWADLINCOTE, DERBYSHIRE.

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Shunter Driver will involve but not be limited to:

• Shunting trailers onto allocated bays
• Carry out shunting work of vehicles within the yard
• Daily yard checks following site rules, health and safety guidelines
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management

Essential Skills

As a Shunter Driver you will need to have:

• Valid UK Category B Driving Licence
• Minimum of six months experience driving and shunting
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Excellent communication as you will be communicating with both transport and warehouse and using a radio is essential to the role

Desirable Experience

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Training

• Driver's assessment must be completed
• Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
