Essential Experience Experience with towing a trailer is essential for this role, as is a solid knowledge of all things automotive, including the ability to appraise vehicles both aesthetically and mechanically. An exemplary and professional driving record is required, along with a clean driving licence, a valid CPC licence, and a trailer licence. Responsibilities As one of the most globally renowned classic and performance car dealerships, we require cars to be collected and delivered to customers' homes across the UK, as well as in-house movements of our own stock. The main responsibility of our Professional Transporter Driver is to load, transport, and unload vehicles safely and efficiently using a pickup and trailer. Before loading the vehicles onto the transport trailer, the driver is responsible for conducting a thorough inspection of each vehicle. This includes checking for any pre-existing damage, ensuring the vehicles are securely fastened for transport, and confirming they are in working order. The driver will then upload photos to our internal CRM system. Once the inspection is complete, the driver will load the vehicle onto the transport trailer. This may involve driving the vehicles onto the trailer or using specialised equipment such as ramps and winches. The driver is then responsible for securely fastening the vehicles to prevent any movement or damage during transit. Vehicle Transporter Drivers must adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving. Effective communication with the rest of the team and customers is crucial. You will need to provide updates on the status of deliveries/report any issues with customers & our inhouse team. In most cases you will be required to interact directly with customers when delivering their cars. Providing excellent customer service by being polite and professional is a must! Youare responsible for the basic maintenance and upkeep of the transport trailer and the vehicle you are driving. This includes regular inspections, service requirements, fluid checks, tyre checks, and ensuring all equipment is in good working order. Safety is a top priority in this role. As our driver you must remain vigilant in adhering to safety protocols, including properly securing the vehicle, using the necessary safety equipment, and prioritising your own well-being while on the road. Hours This is a Monday to Friday position; with occasional weekend overtime work available. Due to the nature of the role, a fixed finish time cannot be guaranteed, and full flexibility during the week is essential. PLEASE NOTE our current location is in Leicestershire, but we are relocating to Oxfordshire at the end of 2025. Accordingly, the role can be on a short or long-term contract to suit the chosen applicant. This position is available for an immediate start.
