Job descriptionMaterials Planner Ashby de la Zouch (home of Hula Hoops, Space Raiders and Popchips)Permanent RoleWe are looking for an experienced Materials Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Ashby de la Zouch. As a Materials Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials to support our production processes.As a Materials Planner at KP Snacks, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where your contributions will directly impact our production efficiency and customer satisfaction. Join us at KP Snacks and be part of our journey to delight our customers with our delicious snacks!As Materials Planner, some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Raise purchase orders in the short term horizon in line with production requirements
  • Manage WIP of raw materials
  • Communicate supply shortfalls and investigate contingency plans
  • Review the weekly, monthly production plan and work collaboratively within the planning team to ensure materials are available to meet the schedule
  • Review stock holding / MOQ with suppliers to ensure obsolescence is managed and write offs are kept to a minimum
  • Generate monthly list of slow moving/ obsolete materials for review
  • Ad hoc PO raising and invoice checking
  • Manage material changes on site
  • Investigate discrepancies between physical stock count and system stock
  • Manage system and supply chain performance parameters such as supplier contact information, lead times, minimum order quantities and schedules
  • Provide cover for the Materials Manager

Job requirementsWe'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following:
  • Planning & Analytical Skills: Proficient in materials planning, with 2-3 years of MRP/raw materials experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Demonstrates strong analytical skills to address issues proactively and independently.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Able to prioritize tasks and foster a "customer-first" approach.
  • Technical Proficiency: High level of computer literacy, especially advanced Excel skills, with experience in supply planning systems (JDE preferred).
  • Attention to Detail & Accuracy: Highly accurate, detail-oriented, and quick to spot errors, ensuring high standards in planning and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement & Adaptability: Displays a proactive approach to process improvement, responsibility, and a flexible "can-do" attitude to meet business needs.
