The Role
We are seeking a dedicatedTechnical Legislation Advisor to join our Central Technicaldepartment at KP Snacks. As a key member of our team, you will beresponsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulationspertaining to our products.
- Deliverlegal & policy compliance of branded and retailer branded (RTB)products manufactured or sold by KPSnacks.
- Provide effective technical support forthe timely delivery of projects including new product launches,range redesigns, cost saving initiatives, health & nutritionreformulations and implementation of legislationchanges.
- Collaborate with other members of theTechnical Legislation team and Group colleagues to deliver theimplementation of the new Intersnack recipe management system,Optiva
- Deliver compliant products and labellingfor brands sold in the UK, EU & exportmarkets.
- Responsibility for sign-off (approvalor rejection) of artwork designs for legal & policycompliance.
- Provide advice and/or approval ofadvertising materials such as website copy, press releases &print or broadcast ads.Deliver technical legislation support forprojects e.g. 'what if' nutrition calculations, advice on nutritionor ingredient claims, product naming, depiction, labelling,allergens, acceptability of ingredients or recipes foruse.
- Ensure product samples meet KP/Intersnackor RTB customer requirements. Work closely with ProductDevelopment, Innovation & Marketing or RTB Commerical from theinitial stages of projects in the brief phase through to productlaunch. Also, provide data (ingredients, allergens, nutrition orclaims approval) for branded research or trade samples or RTBcustomer sample submission forms.
- Management ofallergen matrices to ensure packs are labelled with the correctallergen warnings. It is vital to ensure this information iscorrect as allergens can be life threatening and incorrectinformation could lead to a productrecall.
- Provide support during CIMs or foodissue alerts and for factory audits.
- Degree inscience / food science / nutrition.
- Trainingcompleted on recipe management systems including RTB customerspecification systems.
- Detailed knowledge ofTechnical Legislation team IT systems and RTB customer ITsystems.
- Detailed knowledge of KP Snacksbranded & RTB portfolio.
- Detailed knowledgeof UK & EU legislation e.g. food law & labelling,allergens, health & nutritionclaims.
- Detailed knowledge of KPSnacks/Intersnack Group policies and customer policies &COPs.
- Knowledge of nutrition relating toingredients & products.
- Knowledge ofingredients, processing methods and factories producing oursnacks.
- General awareness of snacks industry& competitor products.
