The Team & Focus of the Role

At Fisher German our customers and clients are at the heart of what we do. Our Infrastructure Services division assists in delivering projects for the UK on behalf of clients across of a range of different sectors including electricity, gas, water, fibre optics, oil, and renewables.

We are now looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to come and join our team on a part-time basis, delivering health and safety advice for the division on a first-line basis. You will be responsible for producing risk assessments, Safe Systems of Works (SSOWs) and method statements as well as producing standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role will suit you if you are a self-starter, with a passion for health and safety and providing advice to both colleagues and clients alike.

This is a permanent position, with the opportunity to work either full-time or part-time (30 hours), based in our Ashby Estates office within our hybrid working policy.

Duties will include:

  • Producing, owning and being accountable for risk assessments, SSOWs, method statements and SOPs.
  • Preparing divisional or departmental health and safety packs to support client requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, tours, and first line assurance audits.
  • Prepare and complete client audits.
  • Organise and chair divisional/departmental safety meetings.
  • Conduct initial incident/accident investigation.
  • Implement actions from external safety audits.

The successful candidate will have

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Proven Health & Safety experience
  • Technical knowledge of Construction/Utilities/Infrastructure
  • High attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Outstanding prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to self-manage in order to meet deadlines
