Waste Services Loader Multiple Positions Available

North West Leicestershire District Council is launching a new weekly Food Waste Collection Service, and we're looking for committed, hardworking people to join our team. This is your chance to play a key role in reducing waste, increasing recycling and helping create a cleaner, greener North West Leicestershire.

You will undertake food and other types of waste collection and other related duties. The job involves loading food waste, refuse, green waste and recyclable materials on the various collection rounds around the district and may from time to time include other street cleansing duties.

You need to be physically fit and able to walk long distances each day, lift and carry to do the job. You also need to be flexible and adaptable to help the wider team in what can be an ever-changing working environment. You must also be able to deliver excellent customer care and show respect for residents, managers and colleagues alike.

• 37 hrs per week with a starting annual salary of £26,112 (pay award pending)

• Four day working week of 9¼ hours per day, usually worked Tuesday-Friday

• 6.5 weeks holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 7.5 weeks after 5 years
