North West Leicestershire District Council is a vibrant and ambitious organisation in the heart of the National Forest, with a clear focus on providing excellent services and support to residents, businesses and visitors. We are currently seeking a new Head of Housing to lead several key service areas such as our in-house repairs and maintenance team, asset management (including new build), tenant management, and strategy and policy (including homelessness). Leading a dedicated team of over 120 staff, you will have overall responsibility for the robust management of our Housing Revenue Account to finance the delivery of a seamless, efficient and effective landlord function to just over 4,000 tenants and a small number of leaseholders.

Over the last few years we have made great progress on tackling various issues such as vastly reducing the backlog of outstanding repairs and improving the way we handle complaints from tenants, but we know there is more to do. The nature of this role demands a collaborative and positive leadership style, the skills to use data and insight to drive performance, and the ability to embrace new ways of working to further improve the customer experience. This is a great opportunity to join us at a time of change and transformation at the council as we embrace the prospect of LGR. We are therefore seeking forward thinking, innovative and politically astute candidates with excellent leadership and management skills and a strong technical understanding of housing issues, who can work at a strategic level as well as develop what is already a strong team.
