Economic Development Officers – two jobs, both initially 6-month fixed-term contracts with potential opportunity to extend to 31 March 2026

North West Leicestershire District Council is a busy council, working across our communities to help people and businesses thrive. We're looking for two Economic Development Officers to join our Economic Regeneration Team on a temporary basis.

About the role 

Our Economic Development Officers support the development, implementation and monitoring of various initiatives that contribute to delivery of economic regeneration across the district. A key part of the job is to support our Senior Economic Development Officers deliver business and community grants programmes alongside supporting the team to administer and deliver the North West Leicestershire Regeneration Framework.

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who is able to quickly build rapport and maintain good relationships with a varying range of people including internal colleagues, councillors, voluntary and community organisations, businesses, business-related organisations, other public agencies, funding bodies and council members. You must have demonstrable experience in delivering and successfully administering projects and previous experience of delivering funding programmes would be ideal.

•          Two part-time jobs, both 21.75 hrs per week with an annual salary of £16,627 - £18,640 (pay award pending) pro rata to length of contract

•          Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working

•          34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full-time equivalent), pro rata to contracted hours and length of contract
