Technical Sales Engineer

Our European based precision metrology equipment designer and manufacturing company is seeking a new Technical Sales Engineer to support the ongoing development of their UK and Irish markets. Supporting a range of core sectors including aerospace, defence, medical and automotive, this role is to work with existing clients as well as develop new.

Working alongside an existing UK team, the Technical Sales Engineer is focused on a solution sales approach to provide their market leading premium level of equipment to a range of manufacturing and engineering companies. With opportunities to supply products and solutions into a range of existing and future applications, this position offers an exciting technical and commercial mix.

Operating from a hybrid base but reporting into their offices in Leicestershire, this role reports to the Managing Director and will require significant travel both in the UK and Ireland and occasional travel to Germany for training and client support.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

- Understanding market conditions and trends to contribute towards company strategies towards established and new technology & vertical areas.

- Developing and managing a 12-month sales pipeline, ensuring a high % win ratio.

- Identifying new accounts and developing joint action plans to build mutual valuable relationships.

- Key account development: Customer Relationship management/ Account Management of allocated active accounts to foster strong customer relationships and maximise sales opportunities.

- Develop annual account plans for key clients, managing and developing relationships with the wider group & partner companies to identify and drive new leads and business opportunities.

- Undertaking all aspects of the sales cycle: lead generation, client identification, warm and cold calling, conducting client meetings and presentations- remote and in person, up to C- level, to present our solution and service offerings and align with clients technical and business objectives,

- Producing quotes and following up through the sales process to completion.

- Managing & negotiating commercial terms with approval from the Managing Director

- Providing concise regular weekly opportunity and pipeline updates using PIPEDRIVE to the wider team with accurate forecasting

- Evaluating the success of all projects against set benchmarks and sharing lessons or best practice.

- Working autonomously, whilst working closely with all team members including service/engineering, finance and administration in the joint goals and objectives to enhance our industry reputation and develop new business opportunities.

- Report time spent on activities in an accurate and timely manner in line with current company UK practice.

- Undertaking any of the above on a temporary basis, if required, in any other Group Company.

- Promoting all products and services from the portfolio provided.

- Undertake any reasonable task from time to time that is requested from the Managing Director

To support this role, we are seeking a technical awareness at ONC level and above, but wherever possible, candidates should have a working awareness of Renishaw products. Knowledge of Metrology Measurement Software (Metromex/Quartis and or OpenDMIS) would be highly desirable.

You should be an experienced sales professional and have experience supporting a solution sales approach.
