Progress Teachers are working closely with a local Mainstream Secondary School to appoint a skilled and dynamic Cover Supervisor for a full-time role to commence ASAP.

This is the perfect opportunity for those who have stepped out of full-time teaching, or those with a degree in a relevant subject area who are considering a career as a teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Supervision: Effectively manage classrooms in the absence teachers, ensuring a focused and purposeful learning environment.
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students, maintaining the continuity of learning and following school policies.
  • Behaviour Management: Consistently implement the school's behaviour management policies to promote an atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Personalised Support: Offer support to individual students or small groups as needed, ensuring that they can access learning effectively.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with colleagues regarding student progress, behaviour, and any issues that may arise during the day.
  • Administration: Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as registering attendance, and reporting any incidents or concerns to the relevant colleagues.
  • Professional Development: Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on School policy and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
  • x2 satisfactory references
  • A DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain.
