My client, a fast-growing Precision engineering company in Castle Donnington, are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join their business.

After continued company growth and success, the Financial Controller will be right hand man/woman to the Managing Director, helping with business planning, commercial finance and overall strategy. At the same time, the Financial controller needs to be hands on and not afraid of getting their hands dirty and involved in the detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Managing Director and wider leadership team in setting budgets/predicting future trends and monitoring performance throughout the financial year.
  • Providing and interpreting financial data, including but not limited to monthly board packs
  • Weekly Directors report, containing cash flow, business trading and collections data.
  • Assessing cost-reduction opportunities and ensuring value in our supply agreements.
  • Build a growth plan
  • Comfortable managing cash in tight circumstances
  • Decision making and set up of contracts
  • Provide structure to group reporting
  • Provide data / product costings to aid decision making.
  • Supporting the management team with ad hoc operational tasks and bringing general commercial acumen and experience to the running of the business.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), with significant years PQE
  • Multi-Currency experience (Chinese Yuan, US Dollar and Euro)
  • Experience of leading a finance team
  • Strong communicator, confident, organised, ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Proven commercial acumen, ability to assess and implement business plans and future strategy
