Police are searching for a man who 'verbally abused' an Ashby woman at a cul-de-sac property.

Officers were called to an area just off Burton Road this morning (Monday) following reports of the incident which happened when the woman answered a knock on the door.

Police cars arrived on the scene to search for the man who fled the area soon after the confrontation.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson told Ashby Nub News: "A report was received just before 11am that a man had knocked on the door of a property- and then been verbally abusive to a woman who answered, before leaving the area.

"Officers were deployed to try and locate him, but no arrests have been made."
