Ashby de la Zouch Town Council meetings are now being held face to face - but have moved to Coalville for now.

Monday's meeting of the council's planning committee was held in the Council Chamber at North West Leicestershire District Council in Coalville to ensure social distancing measures were adhered to.

The Government last week ruled that in-person meetings must take place after May 7, with no provision for virtual or hybrid gatherings.

But after just over a year of holding meetings via a Zoom link due to the Coronavirus pandemic, councillors were once again in the same room as one another.

Ashby de la Zouch Town Council meetings are once again open to the public.

But, for the moment, and for everyone's health, the Town Council is encouraging members of the public to continue using Zoom.

The Town Council's next meeting is the Annual Town Meeting next Monday.
