Salary: £36,000pa

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role has a direct responsibility for food safety and quality assurance activities at the Ashby site. As key member of the site Technical team, you will be working closely with the Quality Manager, the Technical team and key personnel from other departments.

The Senior Quality Technologist will support day to day management of the Quality function for the site, be responsible for driving food safety and quality standards. The role is operationally focussed and he/she/them will be expected to spend a significant proportion of time in a manufacturing environment

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Drive and promote food safety through coaching quality standards across the factory

Challenge & influence standards to comply with the KP Quality Management System

Lead the HACCP team and manage the documented system ensuring this is reviewed and maintained. Coordinate training for team members as required.

Lead the Acrylamide monitoring system & sampling plan

Lead Complaint Management, investigation & trending to influence a site wide focus and provide updated progress and information packs to internal & external stakeholders

Be an active member of the site Internal Audit team and system to meet BRC, AIB and customer standards, ensuring compliance to the audit schedule and effective close out of non conformances.

Support Allergen Management within the factory

Ensure the management of all controlled technical documentation

Manage all site sensory activities, including end of life and benchmark reviews of online evaluation and daily offline evaluation

Support & engage in IWS activities. Be an active member of the Q Pillar, taking on a WPO role and adopt a coaching approach across site

Manage Intelex administration, Q Alerts, Document control etc.

Manage administration of the site product holds (Q1 and/or CIM) and IPS/investigation process

Support approval of all incoming raw materials

Support the vendor non conformance through investigation & liasing with suppliers as required

Work effectively within the broader site teams during customer or 3rd party visits or audits whilst supporting the Technical department

Assist the launch of new products & ingredients, ensuring that products are compliant with HACCP and specifications

Complete any routine technical related activities and testing e.g. calibration

Support the on-going development of the QA Apprentice

Other projects as required by the site or company

Use of site or company systems e.g. Intelex, BUDDY, SFOL, AGILE, JD EDWARDS etc.
