Environmental Health Officer (part-time) – two posts
North West Leicestershire District Council is a busy council, working across our communities to help people and businesses thrive. We're looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Protection Team.
We currently have a permanent post and a temporary post (to 31 March 2026), which could be combined to make a full-time post to 31 March 2026, (reducing to 18.125 hours after that date)
About the role: You will carry out duties in relation to private sector housing & housing standards, pollution control, nuisance, disabled facilities grants, and respond to service requests in relation to air quality and contaminated land. Undertaking inspections and visits, investigating alleged breaches and taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
You will also supervise the team in relation to enviro crime and public protection caseloads. Our ideal candidate You will be an excellent organiser, able to manage multiple and complex cases.
Your effective communication skills make it easy for you to confidently communicate and develop relationships with a variety of external agencies, organisations, residents and colleagues.
You are passionate about making sure our residents feel valued because you can see the issues through their eyes.
• 18.125 hrs per week (worked on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays) with an annual salary of £18,969 - £20,756 (Full-time equivalent £37,938 - £41,511) - this includes a market supplement enhancement
