Job Title: Controls Engineer - Cyber Security Location: Ashby-de-la-Zouch Salary: 50,000 - 55,000The client is a leading company in the manufacturing of electrical generators typically for gas turbine and steam turbine driven applications, known for its innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology. In this role as a Controls Engineer - Cyber Security, you will be responsible for analysing security requirements, conducting risk assessments, and supporting the engineering team to create cyber security compliance for PRISMIC components/control systems. Additionally, you will work with project, system engineering, and product management teams to identify standards requirements and ensure compliance.Key Responsibilities

  • Enhancing PRISMIC control software to ensure compliance with cyber security standards for Windows & QNX platforms.
  • Developing best practices, procedures, checklists, and implementing security standards for control systems.
  • Implementing secure network protocols such as SSL/TLS, HTTPS, SSH, SFTP, and secure industrial protocols for PRISMIC control systems.
  • Conducting and maintaining ongoing threat analysis and risk assessment processes to proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks for PRISMIC systems.
  • Ensuring high standards of software quality control using GitLab.
  • Supporting project execution by preparing and reviewing technical specifications and providing applications engineering expertise for control system projects.
  • Participating actively in cross-functional activities, such as customer meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and project reviews.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in software/controls/electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Cyber Security implementation within control systems, including risk assessment, protecting control system, encryption, password protection, security protocols, and IEC/international Standards.
  • Proven experience in interpreting customer/cyber security standards requirements, network topology to create compliant solutions.
  • Strong C++ programming experience.
  • C# programming experience (will be an advantage).
  • Knowledge of software-based microsystems/control and communication systems, including Modbus, TCP-IP Ethernet, network communications, and its redundancy.
  • Knowledge of automation and control system cybersecurity standards such as IEC62443.
  • Knowledge of operating systems such as QNX, Linux, and Windows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
