Your new company works to enhance customers' productivity, safety, and profitability.Your new role As the first point of contact for customers and working as part of a small, dedicated team, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for answering and responding to customer issues with a sense of personal accountability and professionalism. This role is also a key member of a sales team with the aim of building long-term customer satisfaction.Business Growth & Development • Initiates calls to existing customers to generate additional business • Participates as a member of a sales or account team to enhance customer relationship• Answer all designated incoming calls from external sources and process sales orders taken by email. • Assess customer enquiries and route to the appropriate person or department.• Take ownership of customer issues and ensure commitments are met as promised. • Expedite urgent orders to ensure customers receive them when needed. • Advise supervisor of customer concerns and solicit support where needed. • Proactively inform customers of any changes to order status, backlog issues, or other relevant matters. • Utilise tools and resources provided (sourcing allocation, stock, rob jobs) to satisfy customer requirements. • Stay current on industry developments, competitive offerings and issues affecting sales and customers. • Develop working knowledge of products and their functions for their respective customer group. • Works across department boundaries to resolve customer problems. • Builds strong relationships with other departments to enable effective communication to resolve customer queries. With a variety of responsibilities service including end-to-end customer service, strong communication with customers, developing new business with existing and new customers, staying up-to-date on industry developments and product knowledge, and ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues and customers using the service products and services, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer services professional. This is a full-time role, working 8am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-2pm Friday.What you'll need to succeed - You must be able to evidence a minimum of 1 year's experience working as a Customer Service Representative in either a Manufacturing or Distribution workplace.- You must be able to undertake all activities involved in order management. - Actively involved in transactional problem-solving. - Proficient with the Microsoft 365 suite, in particular Excel and Windows environments. - Ability to work in a collaborative space-Written and verbal presentation skills.- Database extraction.- Flexible, self-motivated and strive to achieve customer happiness goals and targets.- Digital literacy.- Flexible, self-motivated with shown initiative.- Knowledge or customers' industry.- Outstanding customer relations and active listening skills.- Ability to learn Customer Service software applications.What you'll get in return - Salary ranging from £25,700 to £32,200 per year.

  • Pension - Employer 7% and employee min of 5% employees can put in more-salary sacrifice scheme
  • Group Income Protection - up to 50% of salary if an employee cannot work due to long-term disability (there will be a policy on this and rules on when it kicks in)
  • Life Assurance - 6 times salary
  • BUPA - for self only (BIK)
  • Discretionary bonus scheme 5% based on business performance - rules regarding when you join, pro rata, cut off dates etc
  • A discretionary 2% Christmas payment payable in December again based on business performance, calculated on a pro rata basis from start date and providing the start date is on/before 30th June.Total of 33 days - 25 days holidays + 8 stat days pro rata for a start date during the year (Christmas closure which we all hold days for)Enhanced maternity and adoption pay - qualifying period is the same as qualifying for SMP and is 13 weeks full payWorking hours 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday exc a 30-min unpaid lunch break, 8am to 5pm Mon to Thur and 8am to 2pm Friday. Working pattern agreed with the manager and during probationary, in the office full-time, then we could look at 3 days in the office 2 at home
